Freddie Mercury, tied down on a flatbed trailer, was removed from the Canon Theatre on Yonge Street yesterday where he has been perched over the entrance during the 61-week run of the Queen musical We Will Rock You. We Will Rock You is moving to the Panasonic Theatre, a few blocks north of the Canon, and reopens July 16. The Canon gets ready for Spamalot, opening September 9. A few nights ago, I was walking up Yonge Street in the rain as I passed by the Panasonic Theatre buzzing with its eerie Blue (Man) glow. As uneasy as it may have felt, the Blue Men reminds me of analyst/therapist Tobias Fünke so I laughed and laughed... until I stopped. Why stop laughing at thoughts of Frightened Inmate #2? Well, lining the street in front of the Panasonic Theatre were bags and bags......

Protesters are urging patrons to boycott Toronto's Blue Man Group show for refusing to work with the city's four theatre unions. Anywhere from 100-400 protesters (depending on who you read) gathered at the Panasonic Theatre on Sunday night to thwart the anti-union Blue Men in their opening show.
