The Best Map Ever in the History of Anything

bestmapever.jpgWe just found out about this absolutely incredible transit map of Toronto that incorporates the TTC, Go Transit, VIVA, Brampton Transit, Mississauga Transit, and Vaughan Transit into handy-dandy Google Map form, meaning you can easily input a location and find the nearest transit routes that surround it.

Best of all, unlike other maps before it, it doesn't include only major stops but everything -- including bus and streetcar routes and it's integrated with our own Sean Lerner's amazing TTC Rider Efficiency Guide. We've been waiting for something like this for a long, long time. No more double-checking back and forth between a TTC map and Google Maps when you're trying to find the best way to get where you want to go on public transit.

(Thanks to reader Shirley H. for tipping us off at tips@torontoist.com, via the Toronto Livejournal Group.)

oh. my. god. yes :)

I was just doing the dishes, and thinking about this, and this isn't really using the CC license, but if it was, that would be cool, eh?

Awesome!

I hope he'll add some sort of extra layering, so you can turn off the GO and TTC bus routes, for example, and just see street cars.

The link to his bog for comment is broken - ironic.

Surely, it's not the link that's broken, it's my hosting provider. Every so often it will just keel over and drop connections.

Perhaps the map can be expanded upon beyond GTA and include areas such as Brampton, Oakville, etc. It would be nice to see some sort of legend representing the various layers of train systems.
