Earlier this week in the concert listings, we briefly told you of the upcoming free shows that the Toronto Public Library were holding. Now that the full details have been released, here's the low-down.

To celebrate the recent acquisition of a new local music collection, the Toronto Public Library is throwing two live shows in October. The hope is that this initiative will engage young people into using library services. Judging by the diverse talent participating in the concerts, they're off to a good start.

Details:

Saturday, November 4, 8pm
North York Central Library
5120 Yonge St. (North York subway stop)

Performances by:
The Creeping Nobodies
Final Fantasy (hot off of his Polaris Prize win)
Hank
Ninja High School
Bob Wiseman

Saturday, November 18, 8pm
Toronto Reference Library
789 Yonge St., (Bloor subway, walk north)

Performances by:
Elliott Brood
Great Lake Swimmers
Lal
The Old Soul
Shad

Tickets are limited to 2 per person, and will likely be snatched up fast. You can pick them up for the North York Central library show beginning Oct. 2, and for the Toronto Reference Library show on Oct. 20 at the following locations:

Soundscapes - 572 College St. 416-537-1620
Toronto Reference Library - 789 Yonge St. 416-397-5970
North York Central Library - 5120 Yonge St. 416-395-0792
Maria Shchuka A. Branch Library - 1745 Eglinton Ave. W. 416-394-1000
Cedarbrae Branch Library - 545 Markham Rd. 416-396-8850

While you're there, don't forget to return those books that have been overdue for six years. If you're lucky, they may even overlook the $436.50 fine you've racked up.
